PAX: Aus, Dogwood, Quicken, Foghorn Leghorn, Timber, Pink, Shooter, Knoxville

YHC was excited to try a new event today, as witnessed by YHC and Knoxville during the Heels beatdown of WCU Saturday. That would be the second adaptation of the day. The first is a weekly adaptation – our temporary AO is Kenan.

Warmup:

  • SSH x 20
  • WMH x 10
  • Imperial Walkers x 15
  • Arm circles
  • Merkins x 10

The Thang:

Mosey to stairs by Kenan endzone. Bear crawl down. At bottom, time for second ADAPT. Attempt was made to perform a four square merkin. Four PAX get in Merkin position in the shape of a square, but with feet on next guys shoulders, so only hands are on the ground. The idea is all four go down and back up in unison. This was performed after touchdowns during the game Saturday, but as Knoxville pointed out, it was done by Green Berets, not dads and the like. This exercise is hard AF, and YHC abandoned it with very little gnashing of teeth among the PAX.

Mosey to hill by the Bell Tower for lunge walk – burpee pyramid. 10 lunge steps foward, 1 burpee. 10 lunges, 2 burpees. Continue to stop sign at the top. Burpee it out until the PAX completes.

Mosey to ROTC pull up bar. 10 pull ups, People’s Chair when not on the bar. Repeat for 10 more pull ups.

Mosey to the stairs in front of Wilson Library. Chalk art was coned off between stairs and wall, so ADAPT #3… all exercises on the wall:

  • Dips x 10
  • Durkins x 10
  • Step ups x 10 for R leg, then 10 for L

Rinse. Repeat. x3

Mosey to Davis Library columns, but not for bear crawl. Instead, Usain Bolts. 2 PAx sprint to end and back, leaving an exercise for the rest.

  • Carolina Dry Docks
  • WWIIs
  • Russian Hammers
  • Mountain Climbers

Mosey back to AO for Mary, and ADAPT #4… work trucks coming through the circle so we slid over for a non-circle Mary (the HORROR!).

Mary:

  • LBCs
  • Heels to Heaven
  • Long (not slow) Flutter
  • Russian Hammer

Convergence next Monday 11.27 for 4th Anniversary of Kenan/Fetzer. Keep LP in your prayers as he begins chemo today.

As we face an F3 workout, and more importantly, life, we confront obstacles. They can stop us in our tracks, or we can rise to the challenge, ADAPT, adjust, and overcome. Some adaptations are significant and longstanding and others trivial and unimportant. Rise to the challenge, adapt, and overcome. In this week of Thanksgiving, let us be thankful for each other and F3. Let us be grateful for family and friends and the time we are able to share with them. Look to invite into your circle someone without the luxury of family or friends.
