Twenty-five (!) Pax came out for Pleasantville this Monday for a workout tribute to the mighty, mighty Tar Heel basketball program in YHC’s debut as Q. As the workout progressed, some of the Pax picked up on the unusual numbers YHC used as he doled out the exercises.

Here’s what happened:

Warm-ups concluded with ‘24 side-shuffle hops. We then traveled down the hill to the Pinnacle Partners parking lot (heel), where we (pinnacle) partnered up for the rest of the morning’s work. The pairs did ‘57 burpees, trading off with laps around the building. Then on to the hill on Aberdeen (big toe). We did ‘82 merkins as a pair, trading off with sprints up and back down the hill. We then moseyed over to Brookgreen Drive (second toe). There the pairs each did ‘93 crunches, along with hill sprints. After that, we moved on to the Greenview Hill (middle toe). This time we each bear-crawled up the hill, topping that off with ‘05 WWIIs, then back down the hill and over to the parking deck (ring toe?) for three sets of ‘09 pull-ups. Emerging from there, the group headed back to the other side of Aberdeen (pinky toe) for some wheelbarrows up that hill, following by ‘17 squats. Seeing we still had some time to spare, YHC didn’t want the crew to get “robbed” of some more fun, so the pairs traded off two sets of ‘16 dips and derkins/wall-sits and balls-to-the-wall. And, not wanting this team to be deprived of the glory it deserves, each pair did ‘81 step-ups, trading off with laps around the green. We closed with a round of “boat/canoe” back at the AO. We really had an incredible group including FNG Biscuit, YHC’s oldest friend, who paired up with Churham’s most respected member, Stevie Ray.

As the workout concluded, YHC explained that the numbers were the years in which our beloved Tar Heels won national championships, and 81 and 16 were the years in which we were robbed. He also pointed out that the path we followed was a perfect drawing of a Tar Heel.
