6 PAX gathered at a frosty Tobacco Road.  All were layered appropriately, except for Cardiac, who is too fast for the cold to catch.  Looking for inspiration last night, YHC discovered that January 25th is National Florida day, National Irish Coffee day, and National Opposites Day.  This proved to be little help as the thought of Irish coffee mid-workout is strangely off-putting, YHC already led an opposites workout at TR a couple of months back, and why the hell do we have a national Florida day?

So, YHC took his inspiration from the number 25 (A.K.A. 5 x 5) and we were off.

Warm-up

SSH x 25 (IC)

WMH x 10 (IC)

Good Morning x 10 (IC)

Slow Merkin x 20 (IC)

Burpee x 10 (OYO)

Over to the turf soccer field for 5 x 5’s

5 lines: starting goal line, center line, far goal line, back to center line, back to starting goal line

Perform 5 reps of called exercise at each of the 5 lines (25 total) with a designated method of travel in between.  One added kicker, all PAX finished together.  If you returned to starting goal line and completed your last 5 reps before everyone was finished, you were to keep doing that exercise until the last PAX returned and called out the last 5 reps to be completed as a group.

  3. Prisoner’s Squat w/Backwards Run
  4. Wide Grip Merkins w/Alternative Partner Carry
  5. Supposed to be Burpees w/Bear Crawl but YHC called an audible because the frozen artificial turf was brutal on the hands this morning

So, we mosey’d to the picnic pavilion for some People’s Chair and BTW, while YHC revised his plan.  We completed 3 rounds of each (rough 60 seconds per) at which point there was clear vision for our last 5 x 5.

Each PAX performed 5 Burpees at picnic pavilion then ran to the playground for 5 pull-ups.  Run back to the picnic area, rinse and repeat for 5 rounds total.  Again, finish together as a group.

With a little less than a minute remaining, not much time for Mary, so we finished with 12 Burpees OYO and circled up.

Great times this morning.  Couldn’t have asked for better energy, humor, and fellowship.  Thanks for coming out gents.  It was a pleasure!

Prayer Request – Brick’s wife’s grandmother is battling some serious health issues.  Please keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayer.  Also, as Adolphus mentioned on slack, praying for those affected by this week’s High School shooting in Kentucky, in particular the family of Bailey Holt, who’s cousin’s shared her story with the Go Ruck community last night.
