One of the great things about F3 workouts is when you show up each one is different and you never know what to expect. Today was not one of those days. With a pre-blast announcement that today we would be reprising the 12 Days of Christmas originally done by Dunphy it was pretty obvious what was going to happen. With some minor modifications to the exercises from last year, the workout pretty much writes itself. From a Q perspective this is also one of the easiest workouts to Q because the PAX do most of the work (something to think about for VQs).

The weather looked like it would hold off until we were done but shortly after warmups the drizzle turned to a nice steady rain. Just enough to get the PAX nice and cool.

A bunch of men met early for some track interval work and two took an hour long ruck before we began. I was also able to EH my neighbor into joining us today. A pretty fit guy to begin with as he joined in for a couple of laps in advance of the workout.

The Thang
Mosey over to the top of the entrance to Culbreth Middle School and circle up. Since we were doing the 12 Days of Christmas the men were told they were required to sing and that not singing would result in penalty burpees. Needless to say it was an easy choice. The workout is simple…do the first exercise. Then do the second exercise and the first exercise. Then do the third exercise, second exercise and first exercise. Here’s how it happened.

First Day of Christmas (Band Camp) – Run down and back up the hill (1.6 miles total)
Second Day of Christmas (Boo Boo) – Diamond merkins (22 total)
Third Day of Christmas (Sherman) – Hand release merkins (30 total)
Fourth Day of Christmas (Stevie Ray) – Wide grip merkins (36 total)
Fifth Day of Christmas (Moore) – Perfect merkins (40 total)
Sixth Day of Christmas (Homes) – Jump squats (42 total)
Seventh Day of Christmas (Dean Wormer) – Carolina dry docks (42 total)
Eight Day of Christmas (Sir Mix-a-Lot) – Monkey humpers (40 total)
Ninth Day of Christmas (Nacho Libre) – Plank shoulder taps (36 total)
Tenth Day of Christmas (Vandelay) – Plank jacks (30 total)
Eleventh Day of Christmas (French Lick) – WWIIs (22 total)
Twelfth Day of Christmas (Everest) – Prisoner squats (12 total)
